The Challenge
WHEN I STARTED AT MATTHEW MCCORMICK STUDIO, LABRA SCONCE WAS IN ITS EARLY DEVELOPMENT STAGES. RECOGNIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF ERGONOMICS IN LIGHTING DESIGN, I NOTICED THE INITIAL PROTOTYPE WAS SMALLER THAN WE DESIRED. I CREATED A CARDBOARD PROTOTYPE, WHICH LED US TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE STANDARD MODEL AND DEVELOP THE LABRA SCONCE EXTENDED.

The Solution
THE EXTENDED MODEL PRESENTED SOME TECHNICAL ISSUES AS THE ALABASTER BODY WAS NOT DIFFUSING THE LIGHT PROPERLY, AND WE COULD SEE THE THREE COB DOTS. AFTER RESEARCHING LED STRIPS AND DRIVERS, WE SWITCHED TO THIS TECHNOLOGY, ACHIEVING BETTER DIFFUSION AND A WIDER DIMMING RANGE.
